Thomas' Quips and Quotes

Thomas: ENV8ABF! What does that spell, Mommy?

Mommy: Nothing. It's not a word.

Thomas (exasperated): But I used VOWELS!!!

*****************

Thomas: Does half and a half make a whole?

Mommy: Yes, sweetie.

Thomas: YAY!!!!

*****************

Thomas (out of the blue, completely unprompted): I'm going to have a baby!

Daddy: You are?

Mommy: A what?

Thomas: I'm going to have a baby.

Mommy: When?

Thomas: Mmm...when I'm five....or six....or anytime. Maybe even when I'm as old as Mommy and Daddy.

Daddy: How old are Mommy and Daddy?

Thomas: I don't know.

Mommy: I'm almost 40.

Thomas: Gosh, I'm not even 50 yet. Mommy, you'll be 50 soon.

Mommy: Let me get through my 40's first before we start talking about being 50.

Thomas: 41, 42, 43, 44, 45, 46, 47, 48, 49, FIFTY!

Thomas' Observation on Growing Up

Thomas and I were having a quiet dinner together. I was drinking a Mountain Dew, which is really rare for me, and Thomas knows he cannot have. The following exchange occured.

Thomas: Mommy, is that an adult drink?

Me: Yes it is.

Thomas: When I grow up to be an adult I can have adult drinks.

Me: Yes, when you become an adult you can have adult drinks.

Thomas (whistfully): Yeah....

Me: What kinds of adult drinks do you think you'll want.

Thomas (without skipping a beat and quite joyfully): BEER!

Oh the Things the Boy Will Say

Thomas was peacefully eating some freeze dried fruit. He's obsessed with the Just Fruit brand, so much so I've known him to, on several occasions, eat a whole container at one sitting.

So he just came into the kitchen where I'm working, held out the empty container to me and said "Mommy, will give me some more of these so I can continue to crunch happily along?"

There are times that I really want to laugh my behind off at the boy, but I know doing so will just hurt his feelings. This was just such a time.

I shouldn't laugh, but...

Thomas is currently playing with Daddy in the living room. I'm not sure exactly what they are playing, but I suddenly hear Thomas declare, "That's not your pillow, pussy dog." And he is now just repeating it over and over and over no matter how much Daddy is trying to curb the phrase "pussy dog."

Thomas is now declaring "If you don't stop taking my pillow I'm going to keep saying 'pussy dog.'"

Oh brother.... I'm just glad there are not visits to the grandparents in the near future.

Thomas Live

You wanna see something cute? This is too freaking cute. Or maybe I'm just biased because he's my kid.

Ignore my dorky commentary in this one.
